Food for thought: integrating NetRexx w Apache OpenOffice ?

Fernando Cassia-2
As you might or might not be aware, Apache OpenOffice v3.4 has been released.
This is the first release under the stewardship of the Apache
Foundation, of which IBM is contributing member.

Plus, IBM has announced that it will be contributing the bulk of its
Lotus Symphony code to it.

So, maybe there's a possibility of developing some 'glue code'
allowing for Apache OpenOffice extensions and app UI scripting to be
developed using NetRexx?
Or perhaps design a simple GUI where one could type netrexx code from
within an AOO document and the GUI could call the netrexxc and
generate AOO extensions/scripts automagically?

I think it'd be a nice differentiating factor.

I thought of this inspired in Emtec's Zap-O-Comm (ZOC) terminal with
its built-in Rexx scripting...

In any case, if there's someone interested, the place to propose this

Just thinking aloud...

Hello Fernando Cassia,

*thank you soooo much* for forwarding all your knowedge and your
inspiring ideas to the ibm-netrexx group.

For sure, I'll come back to some of your proposal's and/or suggestions
very soon after my current major releases still in process. Major task
currently
I'm having to release all the doc's in such a way, that others could use
& also potentially maintan (and make money for all of us, from the
potential BIG Companies) using that soft.

It might also be my (personal) contribution for some (hopefully good,
and simple) examples what can be done in NetRexx ;-)

See you!
