Hello dear IBM NetRexxer's.

1.) Rene has yesterday published the official 2010 REXXLA meeting announcement on this group.
2.) I got, after asking, the following valuable hotel info from Jon, which I'm forwarding to you for your info.
3.) I will book at this hotel, as it is some 10 minutes walk to the meeting
location at ICU, the sponsor of this REXXLA event.

There is a train station at Almere Muziekwijk with 2 trains an hour to Schipol & 2 trains an hour to Amsterdam Centraal.  The stop before Almere Muziekwijk in each case is called Weesp.

From the train station it is possible to get a bus (No 4 - 8 busses per hour) to Gooisekrant West Bus stop which is on Barkweg (I think this is the last stop for the bus, it may continue on to Almere Poort if it has been built).  A few blocks walk from the Hotel & Symposium building. 

The Symposium is at TransistorStaat 55, which is on the south side of transistorstraat (as far as I can tell) next to the Roche Diagnostics Nederland VB Building

You can also get a bus 155 from Almere Centraal station to the hotel itself (saving you a 10 minute walk), but there are only 2 busses an hour.  The stop outside the hotel is called Gooisekant.


You should note that I have never been to Almere - It did not even exist last time I was in the Netherlands.  All of this information has been got from the internet and may be wrong. There may be better or cheaper ways to do all of this.

I haven't booked yet as I am awaiting the OK from my work, but I found the Bastion on expedia and it looks to be 10 minutes walk from where the symposium is happening.  Expedia offered flights from UK + 2 nights for £250.

I'm sure that you can get cheaper accomodation if you want.  There seem to be several B&Bs on Almera, but you need to research them a bit and my dutch is non existant.

Also, if you wanted to stay in Amsterdam itself, there is a train every 30 minutes to Almera Musiekwijk station from Amsterdam Centraal and from Musiekwijk you can get a bus to close to the symposium.
