is there a way to control the amount of mail I get from the netrexx community? Thanks, Jack

Hi Jack
You can control it but only at one of two extremes - you get all of it or none of it :-) One option would be to unsubscribe from the list so that you get none of the emails and then follow the mailings on the web at your leasure The mailing list is shadowed here http://ibm-netrexx.215625.n3.nabble.com/ Ian Stirling IBM Hursley |
Ian,
Would it be possible to setup the list so people could subscribe in 'digest mode'? Surely Jack (probably others too) would appreciate getting at most a single email a day from the list. Cheers! Now that would be outstanding... The current setup can drive a lot of volume. I've been spending a lot of time on the road and it really can make the in-box scrolling on my Blackberry a chore. Thanks, Jack

You are correct and I forgot about that. There is a digest option I believe on Mailman. Due to firewall rules etc I cannot reach the configuration screens from home. I will look into it tomorrow when I get into the office. Ian Stirling IBM Hursley |

I checked the ibm-netrexx admin panels this morning and a digest option is already available, but you have to request it as it is not the default setting. Send an email (from the email address you are registered from) to "ibm-netrexx-request@hursley.ibm.com" with the following in the body set digest xxxx end -- replacing xxxx with one of the following options set digest plain set digest mime set digest off When the `digest' option is turned off, you will receive postings immediately when they are posted. Use `set digest plain' if instead you want to receive postings bundled into a plain text digest (i.e. RFC 1153 digest). Use `set digest mime' if instead you want to receive postings bundled together into a MIME digest. Another couple of options people might find of use are the following set delivery on set delivery off Turn delivery on or off. This does not unsubscribe you, but instead tells Mailman not to deliver messages to you for now. This is useful if you're going on vacation. Be sure to use `set delivery on' when you return from vacation! set help Show detailed help. Ian Stirling IBM Hursley |
