I did now find the major couase why Netrexx Compilation is successful,
but javac Compilation fails:
When a NetRexx source is stored in File InIF.nrx, for instance, but the
class is spelled
InIf, for instance, then Netrexx help-fully does REPORT this difference,
and changes to class-name,
but does NOT change the name of the Java keep File to correct this change.
Therefore, NetRexx Compiles successfully, but javac does NOT compile,
and bombs (with a rather
cryptic) error message.
It might well be that this behaviour of javac has been changed since
Java 1.2, and thus has been
never detected by MFC with his tests.
I'm now running all my tests under JDK1.7.0, and there, javac fails.
Also, under JDK 1.7, there is NO longer a tools.jar file.
Thus, the NetRexx Users guide should be updated, I think.
After detecting those issues, both are NO Problem for me!
I do like NetRexx in the current version very much :-), as it is very
stable, both at compilation
as well as execution.
I just wanted to report this to the group, thus others might not fall
into these small holes,
probably caused by changes in Java itself.
thanks for your attention, and sleep well!
Greetings from Dark Vienna,
Thomas.
