Hello there, again
1.) Does anybody have a Guestimate when GENERICS will be implemented in NetRexx? 2.) More important, fo my instant work in progress: **************************************************************************************** Has been already decided which SYNTAX will be used? Are there already any proposals, or can we discuss and decide now, please ? ***************************************************************************************** Thomas. -- Thomas Schneider CEO ThSITC IT Consulting KG Erdbergstr. 52-60/1/13 1030 Wien Austria, Europe Skype ID: Thomas.Schneider.Wien Member of the Rexx Languge Asscociation (www.rexxla.org) Member of the NetRexx Developer's Team (www.netrexx.org) _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] Online Archive : http://ibm-netrexx.215625.n3.nabble.com/

Most probably the standardized extended regular expressions as in grep would be used. Kenneth Klein _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] Online Archive : http://ibm-netrexx.215625.n3.nabble.com/ |
Hi Kenneth, these are a different kind of generics, like discussed here: Generics in Java - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia We have no workable design for this yet. In 3.01 there will not even be the support for Rexx type in Collection classes that Kermit started - we are not sure yet it is the right way; and it is incomplete as it is. This work might lead to a 'syntax-less' kind of generics in 3.02 - but I am working on a design for that needs discussion first. best regards, René Jansen. Thanks a lot for the Link, Rene!
I think it might be useful to start this discussion now! (personal opinion, of course). And: I think we should do it here, so that the conclusion(s) we come up are readily accepted by all current NetRexx Users, which are most probably in this grooup, by now.
