NetRexx Eclipse plugin UI issue

David Holiday
hi all,

I just installed the NetRexx Eclipse plugin and noticed that it doesn't seem to jive well with Eclipse Color Theme. Specifically, the NetRexx code shows up with a white background regardless of the theme. Is there a work around?

thx!

Hi David,

There was no intent to use the Eclipse color themes - sorry if that is what
you want or expect.

On the other hand, Main Window ->Preferences -> NetRexx -> Colors allows a
great deal of flexibility with regard to foreground, background, fonts,
font sizes, etc.  Have you checked that out?

The next version is long overdue, and I'll look into Eclipse themes to see
if there is a reasonable compatibility approach.

Bill

w00t! that should get me by for now. I do a lot of night coding and staring at a backlit white background is no bueno :-)

if making the plugin compatible with Eclipse Color Theme proves to be problematic, would it be possible to add a 'night mode' setting? This way a user doesn't have to manually change everything over if she wants a dark background with non-black text.

Dave,
you may be hinting at the solarized color scheme - so if you are already
know about it, disregard.

But in case you are not aware of Ethan Schoonover's work in the area of
day and night themes, you may want to check out this web site:
