An old thread on this list by our dear Thomas gave me the idea that
there was going to be a www.netrexx.org domain name operated by the RexxLA. Will this become operative?. I can´t find any such domain name... Please let me know, so I can fix my news stories... My win32 command line whois must be broken. :-/
---- >whois netrexx.org [ whois.crsnic.net ] Whois Server Version 2.0 Domain names in the .com and .net domains can now be registered with many different competing registrars. Go to http://www.internic.net for detailed information. No match for "NETREXX.ORG". >>> Last update of whois database: Thu, 09 Jun 2011 19:28:13 UTC <<< --- The web whois find it. http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/netrexx.org Scared the hell out of me. For a moment I thought my news stories reported a domain name I had dreamed up. ;) Thanks for your reply. Fernando,
as far as I do know Rene and other's are working hard to put up a *not desastrous* www.netrexx.org online very soon. My instant contribution will be my enhanced Rexx2Nrx Run-time package, with file I/O, Date, etc, etc, i.e. classic Rexx compatible run-time routines. Of course, those will be OPEN SOURCE, as well. I also will rerlease a couple of NetRexx related tools open source, as a couple of utilities, like change, locate, find etc, and, moist probably a new Rexx2Nrx (now in NetRexx :-)) and the brand new RexxForm (a classic Rexx, ooRexx, and NetRexx Formatter).. I'm just waiting for Rene's reply which package names to use... And also his proposed time schedule. But I do assume he does have at the minute a lot of more *important* things on his worklist, and (unusually) I'll be quiet until he asks ... :-) Thomas. ========================================================= Am 09.06.2011 18:14, schrieb Fernando Cassia: > An old thread on this list by our dear Thomas gave me the idea that > there was going to be a www.netrexx.org domain name operated by the > RexxLA. > > Will this become operative?. I personally think and believe we shall and should *forget* and bad history. Now has come the time to make Mike's, Rene's, Ian's, and other's effort a success! As far as I'm concerned, I will contribute of what I did (for free), but as my time does allow. And I would like to make a *contract* between all of us to *help* and *not* warm up any old stories. Rene *did succeed*, *and that* is a *success*! So, forget the past and let's try to co-work (unsing this list) and help Rene when he does request help. I do know him for year's, and he *is* an excellent Project Leader (and Business-Man, as well) Thomas. ======================================================== Am 09.06.2011 19:09, schrieb Robert Hamilton:

Which is disastrous from a "first impression" point of view... I think it would be MUCH MORE user friendly to have just a "coming soon" page active, and letting users sign up to be notified when the site goes live, and in the meantime, pointing at the RexxLA announcement and the IBM Netrexx pages for related downloads (NetRexx user´s guide etc). <[hidden email]> wrote: > .Making now a *time pressure* isn't good for any party involved ! > Thomas. Not pressing to hurry things up. Quite the contrary, just stating that even a friendly message "coming soon" gives a better image than a non-responding server. Then you can switch the new site live when it´s ready. In fact, a "NetRexx.org coming soon" message could be hosted at the same server as RexxLA..., one would just need to point the domain name DNS entries to the RexxLA server to do it.
