On the IBM page: NetRexx 2.02 is the NetRexx reference implementation for Java 1.1 and
Java 1.2, and will only run correctly on a Java 1.1.2 (or later)
platform.
Is ver. 2.02 equivalent to NetRexx 2 dated 22 May 2009, Version 2.00? BobH _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] |
I'm (as you do know) on the 'Rey Compiler', which is devoted to compile classic (IBM Compiled) Rexx, ooRexx, PL/I and COBOL *at once* to the Java environment. When interested, do look at my speak at www.REXXLA.org, Rexx Language 2010 meeting, for detailts. What you should know, I do think, anyway: ReyC -- the Rey Compiler -- is a 1:1 Compiler of your efforts PP -- .. the Program Porting Machine, is a bit more sophisticated, A Firend of mine even suggested to introduce a *new name* for my approach: *An application Porting Machine* ... No, these are different versions. Latest is NetRexxC is 2.05.
I seem to remember MFC posted a short changelog to the list a while ago. Try a search at the Nable archive. - Saludos / Kind regards, David Requena -----Original Message----- From: Robert Hamilton <[hidden email]> Sender: [hidden email] Date: Wed, 15 Dec 2010 16:01:12 To: IBM Netrexx<[hidden email]> Reply-To: IBM Netrexx <[hidden email]> Subject: [Ibm-netrexx] NetRexx versions _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] |

Hi Robert again
*as far as I do know* (from the author, praised *MFC*) NetRexx has only been updated for some *very minor* tasks. Hence, dont worry: 1.) Install the latest NetRexx Version (2.05) (as I did) 2.) Install the latest JVM (as I did) ***and*** I can promise you, that everything runs well.... Thomas. :-) ====================================================== Am 15.12.2010 23:01, schrieb Robert Hamilton: On the IBM page: NetRexx 2.02 is the NetRexx reference implementation for Java 1.1 and Java 1.2, and will only run correctly on a Java 1.1.2 (or later) platform. _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email]

The latest code version is 2.05, available on the IBM site
(they may not have updated the description).
The latest documentation version is 2.00. This is a
merge of the text from the original NetRexx book ("NetRexx 1.00") and the
NetRexx Supplement, which together described the NetRexx language as implemented
in the code version 2.0x.

In jEdit/NetRexxDE parse version gives:
NetRexx 2.05 14 Jan 2005 and the IBM www page hasn't been updated, I guess; That was the confusion. thnx BobH On Thu, Dec 16, 2010 at 1:09 AM, Mike Cowlishaw <[hidden email]> wrote:

Bob,
Both NetRexxDE and NetRexxScript bundle, and use by default, NetRexxC.jar 2.05. Most probably that copy of the compiler is not what you get at when you invoke nrc.bat from the command line. As a matter of fact NetRexxDE can be made to use any version of this jar file you have on disk. Just set its path at plugin options. - Saludos / Kind regards, David Requena -----Original Message----- From: Robert Hamilton <[hidden email]> Sender: [hidden email] Date: Thu, 16 Dec 2010 05:09:07 To: IBM Netrexx<[hidden email]> Reply-To: IBM Netrexx <[hidden email]> Subject: Re: [Ibm-netrexx] NetRexx versions _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] |
