Netrexx TIME/DATE questions

Gunnar_Berthelsen

What I miss in Netrexx is those good time/date functions from Rexx. The
Calender/date/time classes seems a bit complicated, and my clock in java seems
to be one hour off the computer clock (something about summer-time I think). I
asked Mike, and he had thought about implementing string classes of date/time
but said this was quite a bit of work.

Does anyone know of some good netrexx examples of time/date usage

Best regards
Gunnar Berthelsen

For excellent rexx-line date support I use Bob Kellers BIGDATE. Comes with
source and I think I found it on one of the links starting at www2.hursley.ibm.com.

If you can't find it, I can send you a copy of the distribution. As for the
time problems... Join the club. :') I have internet friends that have had all
kinds of time keeping problems with Java. I've no easy answer for you, aside
from being certain that your OS is set to the correct time and setting a
TZ= variable in your boot information where necessary.

I've found that 1.1 has bugs in this area that have been addressed in 1.2

Time is not just a problem with Java.
I've seen an hour discrepancy in the time with Warp 3.0 and regular REXX.
There's also a TZONE= environmental variable which may help or hinder
this little "feature".
