PIPEs cmd does not work as I expected

“COMMAND” stage does not work for me: pipe “cmd ls <dir> | cons” gives me the home directory and not the directory I need. “cmd ps -ef …. “ gives the output of ps and not the output of ps -ef
Using NetRexx 4.01 GA.
