Property &/ Variable names vs. method names

I do have a question, please:

I found (by own error) that NetRexx methods may be invoked without the
succeeding ().

Now, my questions:

1.) In the NetRexx symbol lookup, are method names and/or
property/variable names *different* symbols
2.) *OR* is the decision done by context?

In particular, may a method have the *same symbol* for a method and a
property (or not) ?
