Subject is pretty self explaining.. I have corrected wrong EOF
recognition of the linein family of methods (they threw exceptions
instead of returning NOTREADY:EOF).

it's finished (at least this part), and it will be incorporated into
MaxBase in days. I have however left on the site a jpg of the final
build. Thanks to everyone that gave it a look and reported feedback!
