Any chance of this as well? Pretty please? :-) If you are in a hurry, and if you are developing an application (not an applet), you can register your own security manager, and catch the System.exit call while compiling your application. It's getting late around these parts, but I just had to talk about my great
"discovery"... BigDecimal... ;') I gotta' say thanks for this one. All this time I thought I understood what java was doing with my wonderful math routines and... well I had an awakening. Remember knucklehead... "You gotta' watch the length of those longs"... I'll have that engraved on a paperweight and put it right next to my "eveything is an object" one... What I did... Out of pure curiosity and dumb luck, I plopped BigD into a few of my timers and counters... and Holy Moses... was I hoodwinked by the previous binary... uhhh... "stuff". And I have to ponder out loud, before I crash... Why didn't Sun sort out these math gotchas' when they had the chance? I'm a human being and when I subtract two large numbers I expect certain results. Boy was I hoodwinked... :') Well maybe I got a little lazy... Whatever. BigD does me just fine... Thanks, Night all, tomorrow is another day. Hmmm... I wonder what mountain I'll be climbing for my Boss... -- ******************************************************************************* * Sometimes, the BEST things in life really ARE free... * * Get a FREE copy of NetRexx 1.150 for your next java project at: * * http://www2.hursley.ibm.com/netrexx * ******************************************************************************* /----------------------------------------\ | From the desktop of: Jerome D.
