Hi Manual, again,
It might be *possibly ok for You to know* that the 2015 Rexx
Language Assiocates Meeting (organized by
www.RexxLa.org, as every Year since the Invention of REX (later
called REXX) by the formerly well known
former UK IBM Fellow M.F..Cowlishaw) shall be held in Vienna,
Austria, as well :-)
Nowadays, there are a couple (actually a lot) of Dialects
available, there, in the Family of Rexx Languages,
You might find all the Details at
www.RexxLa.org.
My current (personal) Favorite is NetRexx (see
www.NetRexx.org),
as this is nowadays the primary (again personal)
choice of my own development.
For instance, the aformentioned DB-123 (see
www.db-123.com),
nowadays available for both COBOL
(I and II as well as LE), and PL/I have been originally developped
in *classic Rexx* on a CMS Machine
using the IBM Rexx Compiler, and then sucessfully ported by my own
deveolpped *Rexx2Nrx* from *classic Rexx*
to *NetRexx* ...
Anyway, when I shall be in Madrid, again, Manuel, for sure I shall
drop You a Note ;-)
Happy Weekend, all,
Thomas Schneider.
PS: NetRexx Group: Yust for Your info and FUN, of Course (using
REVERSE Marketing Techniques ;-) ;-) ;-))

Hi Manuel,
first I do want to thank You for Your reply, again :-)
second, as I cannot afford the 2,685 USD required for the Vendor
presentation, I shall not speak there.
Wish You all a nice meeting in PRAGUE.
It's a marvelous city :-)
When You, personally, and/or some collegues are planning to
visit Vienna afterwards, give me a mail,
I then can help You to recommend some good hotel here near the
center of Vienna, when You like.
Kind regards,
Thomas Schneider.

  Thomas,
IDUG develops technical conferences...that means that they
are built by technical presentations...to present technical
presentations, the conference planning committee opens a
"call for presentation" period of time...but that time is
finished...
Apart from this technical presentations, there is an
opportunity to deliver "Vendor Software Presentations", in
which every vendor can show features, enhancements and
possibilities of their products (see more details in page 8
of the attached document); I personally think that it is the
best choice for you based on your comments. Please, have a
look into it and let me know any question you get.
 Thanks in advance.
P.S. text extracted from page 8:
"Speaking OpportunitiesVendor Solution
Presentations (VSPs)Â $2,685 USD per
presentation
This opportunity allows you additional face-to-face time
with potential customers outside from
the exhibit floor.
They are offered in
60-minute time slots at the conference
on Monday and Tuesday. To ensure your message is heard,
these times will not conflict with any other
technical sessions, though other
VSPs may run concurrently.Times,
titles and locations
of each Vendor Solution
Presentation are published
on the IDUG Web site and in the on-site pocket program.
Sponsorship of an IDUG
VSP includes one (1)
pass for the day
the session takes place. The pass
provides access to the IDUG Solutions Centre and technical
sessions for that day.Companies purchasing
a VSP are eligible
to submit either an
abstract or a full
presentation to be
available online. Abstracts
or full presentations
must be received by
the specified date.
VSP days and time
slots are tentative and subject to change.
Deadline for Requests:Â Only one (1)
VSP can be reserved
initially. If available,
additional requests can be made after
29 September 2014"

Hi Manuel,
thanks for the follow up :-)
1.) I shall not be able to *invest money* into this event.
2.) Also, I have *not* been contacted yet from anybody from
the iDUG staff.
When You like, I can, however, present DB-123 (see www.db-123.com for
details) as a *speaker*.
DB-123 shall enable IBM IMS users to fully automatically
convert their IBM IMS DB to DB2.
DB-123 does now support both COBOL and PL/I as the host
language.
Woth my best Greetings,

  Dear Thomas,
first of all, let me introduce myself to
you: my name is Manuel and I am member of the IDUG
EMEA 2004 Conference Planning Committee, leading
Vendor team. That is the reason why Frederik Engelen
passed me your initial interest about paticipating
in next year IDUG Tech Conf, considering you are
base in Prague...and, yes, I think it is an
exceptional opportunity to show your porducts and
technology in the most important technical
conference in Europe.Â
The first option is a Vendor Software
Presentation (VSP)...it is an excellent way to show
and explain your software...
A booth in the exhibition hall is another
great possibility for marketing and publicity...
Well, this is my first approach...I will
send you more details and information soon.
   Best regards from Madrid...
