SYNCHRONIZED methods, howto in netrexx ?

Mr Antoon Verhoeven

Hello fellow Netrexxers,

The title sums it up quite well :

How to make a netrexx method ( or a block of statements) synchronized ?
I could not find anything about this in the docs , but i desperately
need it for some multithreaddign graphics routines.

If not avaialable as such , are there any workarounds ? (besides
retreating to plain java for that particular class. I aim to have all my
sources in netrexx)

As a possible solution, how about a future  'in-line' option
that allows plain java methods  to be added to netrexx sources ?
I suggest this also with JAVA 1.1 innerclasses in mind.

I hope Mike can spread some light on planned netrexx features that may
address these issues.

Regards,

Toon verhoeven

Netrexx fanatic

NetRexx indexed strings are not implemented as a linear search: they
use the Java HashTable class.

Hmm did you try with the 'protect' modifier? It works in a method
declaration but also on DO, LOOP, SELECT. It's exactly like Java's
"synchronized"  (I think :-)).

Eeek.

Max.
