The results are in! (WAS: Your help please)

David Requena
Thank you very much everyone who tested (Robert, Quique, René, Alan, Tom, George, ... Hope I don't forget anyone)

So far the method works for a wide variety of platforms:

- Z/OS
- Several Linuxes on Z/OS
- Several Linuxes
- OS X 10.6 and 10.4
- Windows XP to 7.
- Embedded java in Lotus Domino (several Domino releases and OS's)

There's doubt about a couple:

- OS/2 ECS (Quique, did you get to try this?)
- (Open)Solaris (I'm quite confident will work)

There's just one where it failed:

- EPOC R5 / Symbian jre 1.1.4

Please, don't hesitate to add any more you might get to test.

Given results, I'll be using this with maybe a non-jvm forking fall back.

Thank you again!

Alan,

Your correction is most welcome.
To be honest I always get a little bit dizzy when you, big iron guys, start the letter soup (z/os, z/vm, wm, mvs, vms, ..., ....)

Of course, no offence intended.  I just get lost in the mainframe world ;-)

VMS?  Big-iron?  That's not big-iron; it's DEC (or is it Compaq, or even HP!)  It's a mini (or is that micky) OS :-D  (With all due respect to Walt Disney...)
