I almost forgot..
I, too, have some news about new NetRexx development tools.
I am in late beta testing (if everything's right, the current build will be
the golden one) for MaxBase 2, and I have added some open
technologies to it that could be of interest to NetRexx developers.
It is mostly a matter of forms. I have developed a non-MaxBase-
specific technology that allows the developer to produce database
forms to be used for data input and form view printing. An object
used to print forms and a Visual Form Builder, *NetRexx* sources
for all of the default components (images, dates, choices, text and
some more are provided as standard components) and full specs for
.mfr files will be part of the MB v2 release. At some point MaxBase
will be able to handle SQL dbs, but in the meantime if you want to
build your own .mfr parser to be used with non-MaxBase DBs, you
certainly can and I encourage it.
Building gorgeous forms with complex logic and data validation is a
snap, and mostly a task involving little to none programming (the GUI
for the VFD is a shameless little clone of the VA Java Visual
Composition Editor). If you have any questions, you know how to
reach me --

Finally, since I am about to become co-owner of a software house,
MaxBase will be sold and marketed as a commercial product, and
some more people will be coding it with me. Wish us good luck. :-)
Max
