As you all do know, I'm preparing a couple of releases from my shop.
As all of my soft going to be released soon, namely Rexx2Nrx vs. 7, RexxForm, DB-123 (now also supporting PL/I as well as COBOL, and finally, a bit later, the long announced PP are now in pure Netrexx, any of those will require a proper installation of the NetRexx Compler (as many of them do actually GENERATE NetRexx programs in turn (as well as COBOL and/or PL/I programs). As DB-123, and PL/I, an RexxForm, etc, shall be also excutable on z/OS machines, for instance, when the customer wants to run those software on his own mainfram, and not under the standard SaaS (Software as a Service) over the Cloud, ... I'm herewith asking wheher the NetRexx 3.02 RC3 release is now available for downloading (which it is, I do know), but using the INSTALLER, to insatll it preperly on Windows, linux, AIX, Unix, and z/OS (to name a couple only), or installation has still to be tailored by the ADMIn by hand ... Rene, Tom Maynard, please do advise of the current state of the art on his topic. When not yet available (even in an alpha/ beta mode), plase release your surrent release SCHEDULES (wit best date guestimates). We (ThSITC IT Consulting KG) will have an official PRESS release of the products mentioned above in early autumn 2012 (but after my teeth have been renovated: I did loose a couple of CHECKET CRONES when eating a CAROTTE, a while ago, and am going to get all teeth extracted, and replaced by the third set of teeth ;-) this shozuld then last for a while, i do think, at least! Yes,Yes, friends, we all are getting older, year by year ... When i do re-calculate how much money I did invest in checket crones the past 20 years ... OH! I don't even want to remind... Has ben sure enough money for a second small car ... Such is life, and it's going sucher and ucher, as my GEISCO Friend Manfred Schmucker always used to say ;-) Have a nice weeked, al NetRexx'ers! See you next year in Raleigh, anyway! The stable version if v4.3.5, the current development head is v5.0.0-beta10 ... either one is quite usable, I suggest you peruse the documentation to decide which is best suited for your purpose. "My" installer will never concern itself with your "soft." If you wish to automate its distribution and installation you'll need to provide your own installer. Thomas,
Re replacement, Bangkok is said to do this expertly and cheaply. My (American) dentist wants $3000 per tooth. You could make this part of your far eastern honeymoon :). (Congratulations, BTW; as one who married at about your age, I'd say you've made a life-extending decision). On Sat, Jul 21, 2012 at 12:59 PM, Tom Maynard <[hidden email]> wrote:

Hello Tom (all others for info),
I've written, for my own part, a simple installer (in NetRexx, what else) which does download my soft from my home-page (wwww.thsitc.com). I only do use .jar files, for simplicity; even the sources are in.jar's (NOT ZIP and TAR's), again, for simplicity. Customer might donwload a DEMO Licence (liited oa specific nuber of SOURCE LINES, or TOTAL SQL Tables, in the DB-123 case), try it, then either: -- SIGN a PROJECT agreement -- we (ThSITC) do the actual conversion work. -- SIGN an SaaS Ageement -- we TRAIN the customer, and his staff then does the work -- SIGN an InHouse Licence (maily interesting for z/OS Customers), with a MAINTENANCE Contract, with the usual 20% yearly maintenance fee --SIGN a SOURCE CODE Licence as well (when he wants to have access to the SOURCE) Source Code willbe on an own SVN Server (NOT on KENAI). Co-Workers (Source Code, Maintenance, Documentatin, LOCAL SUPPORT in FOREIGN Countries, abroad Austria, etcetc) will get a ThSITC Contributor Contract, with a Licence Model I did call: FSL: Fair Share Licence. I'm just preparing all of these -- with some legal advise -- which is a hell of a work, as yo might imagine. The FSL Licence is driven by the followig idea: -- any CONTRIBUTOR does get a FAIR SHARE (based on the worldwide income of the product in question) -- the CONTRIBUTION is measured simply in number of source lines contributed, bugs corrected, enhancements (measured in nuber of source-lines, again), etc. -- thus, it is NOT an OPEN SOURCE Licence; I did discuss this with the OSL people in detail; we are asking for MONEY for using our Software. I personally did invest too much time, money, etc in the devlopment to simply give it away for nothing ... It#äs now time to EARN money, as we will focus on NATURAL LANGUAGE Translation starting 2013, and my KG will turn into an Austrian AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT (AG) for the latter Poject, the Logos Engine. There, we are collecting Strategic Investors (BIG, International Compnies, financing this truly international project). Before I do announce what we will do the next years, too much, it's currently the time to Complete and Release, what has been done the past 10 years :-) You all will, of course, get the press releases when done. Thank you all for your patience -- with me personally --. I *do KNOW* I can go somebody on the *NERVES* very quickly. On the other side, without working hard, you'll nver get a reult -- and I have een alwys result oriented in my whole Business life (rpvate life and hobbies and personal interestsare a totally other story, of course) Ok, end of this lengthy answer. I do only hope I did not make too many mis-typings again, Mr. chip Davie, special note for you: I'm trying to improve my behaviour, always, since I've been born ;-) Have a nice wekkend, and thank yo, tom Maynard, for your immediate reply. What I still do NOT know whether I can use your Installer now to Install NetRexx on a zOS Machine -- without manual Intervention necessary ... Will now have to go ahead and read the oc's on the URL you provided .. Thanks again, All: Have nice weekend, and sorry for the interruption! Hi Geroge, hear I must LAUGH quite
LOUD!
Contrary to many contries, Austria has a VERY DENSE SOCIAL SECURITY Network! 'm simply getting ALL teeth EXTRACTED, *and then* the so called Third Teeth (whichyou can put simply in & out, on demand, or when you like, or maybe your woman asks you to do so for a deep 69 ? Sorry, don't know whether there are ladies on this list at all !! Was meant as a ))maybe a bit dirty ?) joke! Hope *this* *is* *permitted* *here*, at least from time to time. Now good news are: My Austrian SOCIAL SECURITY doespay the majority of the costs. My part is 800 Euro (eight hundred Euro) for 32 perfect teeth made in Porcellane. In this case, it is VERY advataguous to lve in Vienna, and NOT in the US! You will see me smiling wth this new teeth in Raleigh, next RexxLA meeting. This time (2013) I will come personally, again, as I'll introduce The Rey Language ( a new programming language, based on 40 Years of programing expereicne in, I think, at least 30 different languages. Of Course, we will also supply a Nrx2Rey utility. What will change? % will, for instance, be no longer be the INTEGER DIVISION! a = 300 - 14 % will mean. Guess what? Massa Thomas <grin> ;-).
