I've been using NetRexx for a short while and I like the language and
it seems to 'fit my brain' the right way. However, I do have a question: Is there a roadmap that describes (a) when a new release is coming out, if one is (b) and what are the new planned features for that release. I've googled for this and I'm unable to find any answers, and hence my question to this list. Thanks -- Ramesh |

None is planned at the moment, though there are persistent rumours of an alternative OPen Source implementation. Mike Cowlishaw |

Thanks for that update. Any particular reason(s) to why there are no updates planned to the language? -- Ramesh |

If I may add a bit of wisdom that I've learned over the years... "anything good is worth waiting for". NetRexx has never let me done and when the day comesthat the compiler/interpreter is GPL'd... well... that'll be frosting on the cake. Thanks, Mike... for all the years effort you've put into my most favorite of programming languages. Cheers. Jerry |

It's an awesome language and I have been having a good 'ol time using it. Thanks Mike. ./Colin _________________________________________________________________ Buy, Load, Play. You could go to the metric day, 100 hours.
They go quick I hear. :) Mike Cowlishaw wrote: >>Hear, hear. I would like to echo Jerry's sentiment. It's an awesome >>language and I have been having a good 'ol time using it. >> >> > >Thanks, all. Is there some discussion on how NetRexx will work with JSR 223 ? I realize that you're really busy, so this may be a something that'll get done in the future. Thanks. |
