This is my exchange with the editor at Dr. Dobbs.

Sounds encouraging.

Hello,

I sent this to your feedback address, and thought I would copy you as well.

I am not a member of RexxLA, nor do I represent them or IBM.

If necessary, perhaps you could contact them directly to get the official story.

Dear Sir,

I found your recent article on JVM languages interesting, but
unfortunately inaccurate with regard to NetRexx.

IBM released the NetRexx source to RexxLA (The Rexx Language
Association) in June, 2011.  The source has been opened, is supported by
RexxLA and is available.

For additional details, please see www.rexxla.org and netrexx.org

There is a relatively small but active NetRexx community, and related
development also includes plugins for JEdit and Eclipse.

Thanks, Bill.

I wouldn´t exactly call that a "fix". Yes, they fixed the main mistake, but then they say nothing about the virtues of the language. Their blurb could be summed up as "an ancient thing by IBM. Now open source. Will it survive? time will tell".

Not very encouraging for newbies, methinks...

Also, they forgot to mention Jabaco.org ... (Basic to Java Bytecode compiler), and xruby

But probably a fair summary.

There are dozens of JVM languages -- they did say the article is about the 'Main' ones... :-)

Article should also mention Beanshell, which is JEdit's scripting language.
