Amazon has them: the 5th edition is USD 29.66 new, 13.81 used.  The 3rd
edition is USD 26.26 new, 7.42 used.  Amazon also has "Java Examples in
a Nutshell." The 4th edition is USD 4.39 new, 0.01 used.

I can't speak to the thread safety of any of those editions.

Tom.

I've been to several book stores around the DFW area and no-one has a copy. . . .

You could always scourge the Net for copies placed on-line in PDF format. Some could be placed on-line legally. Others do not. But of course that´d be piracy.

Googling for [ "book name" + pdf + rar ] produces some intriguing results.

So better order it from Amazon.com, and read the PDF -if you can find it legally- while you wait for the hard copy to arrive.

Piracy is a crime. A puppy is killed for every unlicensed PDF that you download.
So don´t do it.

PS: I ordered my copy of The Netrexx Language from Amazon.com, in used format. It came from a third party seller with an intriguing stamping on the back cover which read "not for resale". I´ve been wondering ever since if perhaps some used book sellers on Amazon.com were reselling books from libraries or what...
