Hello Bill,
I really did NOT want to waste the time of anybody. :-(

But maybe (?) even some other found the link helpful! ;-)

Anmyway, I will be more reluctant using this list, and ask by direct mail, when you prefer.
(in 2012).

Issue is that when I do send a REPLY it always goes to the List, by default!

Have a happy new year, anyway.

Git is a lightweight version control system, much like SVN.  The main difference is the SVN is a client/server approach, and Git is (if you will) a peer-to-peer, or distributed system.

Thomas,

Sorry you are getting the security warning... I don't see it here.
Perhaps there's a hitch server side.

Cheers.

Re: NetRexx Frustrations, including NJPipes

billfen
Firefox 8.0 gives the following for
https://svn.netrexx.org/svn/netrexx~netrexxc-repo

------------------------------------------------

         This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to svn.netrexx.org, but we can't confirm that your connection
is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

           What Should I Do?

             If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

           Technical Details
svn.netrexx.org uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for the following names:
   kenai.com , www.kenai.com , svn.kenai.com , hg.kenai.com ,
website.kenai.com

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

I Understand the Risks

If you understand what's going on, you
can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification.
Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is
tampering with your connection.
             Don't add an exception unless
you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted
identification.

Re: NetRexx Frustrations, including NJPipes

Jeff Hennick
The problem appears to be using an HTML client browser on an SVN URL.

The browser can not make sense of it.  You must use a SVN client on this
URL.  And, since I am totally frustrated in setting up that client, I
can not verify this address, either.  I think I am giving up on NJPipes
(very sorry) and NetRexx, until they are ready for use.

(At this point, I can't even find current instructions for getting
NetRexx 3 installed, much less be able to do a simple pipeline.)

RE: NetRexx Frustrations, including NJPipes

measel
Njpipes aren't simple; not like cms pipes simple anyway. Probably why it was mostly abandoned.

I have the source and am working on a new version with a pipe fitting gui. I have most of the major functionality I want. Haven't worked on it lately as I became distracted with adding adapters to powershell and other languages via bsf.

Per the svn client, there's a plugin for jedit that works well.

Try for simple:

pipe "(test) literal arg() ! dup 999 ! count words ! console"

The biggest "complicating" difference from CMS is the shell's requiring the use of quotes around it.  Using "!" instead of "|" saves some shell problems, but can be overridden with the  sep <char>  option. Other than these, the syntax is the same and only as complicated as the pipeline you need.

Probably why it was mostly abandoned.
I wrote a number of stages now included in the package.  My primary reason for "abandoning" the project was lack of speed.  But that was a dozen years ago.  Both Java and our machines have become much faster.

If it now has usable speed, I am interested in updating some stages to the current CMS Pipelines Version 5 level and adding some new ones, specifically SQLite to parallel the SQL stage, and some output HTML-formating for my own use and possibly inclusion in the published package.

But at the moment I am stymied in installing it and am  going on to other things.

Great news!

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

I Understand the Risks

If you understand what's going on, you
can tell Firefox to start trusting this site's identification.
Even if you trust the site, this error could mean that someone is
tampering with your connection.
            Don't add an exception unless
you know there's a good reason why this site doesn't use trusted
identification.

Thomas,

Sorry you are getting the security warning... I don't see it here.
Perhaps there's a hitch server side.

Cheers.

Hello Jerry, and all ...

I just followed the link Jerry gave (just for curiousity, I alread
did know it)

and got:

*Dieser Verbinddung wird nicht vertraut* (German message)

which essentially does mean:

*this is not a trusted connection*

Wouldn't it be the time to get this out NetRexx REPO a *trusted
connection* Mr. President Rene Vincent Jansen ?

*Or* is this a KENAI problem ?

Sorry to bother you with those details ...

Thomas.

Use this svn fetch command:

svn co https://svn.netrexx.org/svn/netrexx~netrexxc-repo .

You end up with the latest netrexx and the njpipes you are
