NetRexx Redbook Final

Ueli Wahli
The final version of the NetRexx redbook is now available on the ITSO
Redbook home page under Redpieces:

    http://www.redbooks.ibm.com
    http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redpieces.html

Look for "Creating Java Applications with NetRexx, SG24-2216

Content:
  - Redbook in HTML format
  - Pointer to the redbook examples, nrxredbk.zip file
       ftp://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/SG242216

Examples were developed on Windows, tested on OS/2, based on JDK 1.1.1.
Currently one problem on OS/2: thread termination in one sample gives
a null pointer exception in the stop method.

The GUI examples need a JDK 1.1.1 enabled browser, or appletviewer.
 - Netscape 4.02 for Windows, with an additional zip file from the
Netscape download site runs now jdk 1.1.1
 - Netscape 2.02 for OS/2 with the njbridge.zip file installed
   runs jdk 1.1.1 as well

Ueli,

Now that this is a finished draft, what will happen to the book? Does it get
published or remain an online creation? My reason for asking is that my access
to a "real" printer is limited, making the need for a decently published text
very desireable.

Thanks,

Is there anyplace where the redbook can be downloaded? Online reading is a
bit of a PITA.

Thanks,

I used a "websucker" and grabbed all the html then converted it to ipf then
to inf and now have it available (some what whole) on my desktop...

Just a suggestion...
