https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=683658 Which gnome editors use Gtksourceview? all? If I understand this correctly this will make gnome text editors automagically do color highlighting when dealing with netrexx source code files? If so, cool! The main ones are gedit and a larger IDE called anjuta that can do java already.
There are many lesser known ones too. It really just means when NetRexx makes it into the distro's there will already be many editors waiting. At times, some binaries of these make it into Windows too. Probably the same for OS X. And OS/2 - ecomstation On Tue, Sep 18, 2012 at 9:38 PM, Jason Martin <[hidden email]> wrote: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=683658 _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] Online Archive : http://ibm-netrexx.215625.n3.nabble.com/ |

Older Gnome2 version for Windows
https://live.gnome.org/Gedit/Windows Not sure if the syntax file can be added manually or not. Older Gnome2 version for Mac http://gedit.en.softonic.com/mac Not sure if the syntax file can be added manually or not. gedit is already in the BSD's, debian and rpm packaging systems. Thanks, Wasn´t aware of this port. While my main desktop system is Linux (Fedora 17) this netbook I´m composing this reply on runs XP SP3... so it´d be nice to have gedit here too. I just asked about the extent of the GTK sourceview api usage as I was not aware of all text editors on GNome -other than gedit- and I wanted to make sure I didn´t miss any hidden gems. For some reason, I still prefer jEdit to every linux native editor I´ve tried.... No surprise.... 25 seconds to load on a 1.6 Ghz single-core Atom N450 cpu with 2 gigs of RAM. And the same mess of ´private´ GTK DLLs installed for every gtk app. Can´t they do a GTK2-runtime-win32.exe installer that creates a system-wide \windows\system32\gtk\2.0.x\ folder and puts files there so at least common GTK apps ported to win32 can share GTK libs, and ported GTK win32 apps do not need to package 15MB+ of GTK DLLs with every app?!?! Sheesh... Long live cross-platform Java apps, if possible delivered as a single-jar.... :) FC -- During times of Universal Deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act - George Orwell _______________________________________________ Ibm-netrexx mailing list [hidden email] Online Archive : http://ibm-netrexx.215625.n3.nabble.com/ |
