Hello Richard,
may I ask you that you also have a look at the NetRexx Languages, which has now been OPEN SOURCED by IBM. From my experience, after yeras, it is much more easier to develop Programs for the Java JVM in NetRexx, than in pure Java. But that is my personal Opinion, and experience, of course. You'll find details about the current state of NetRexx at www.netrexx.org, by the way. Maintenance is now done by the REXX Language association (www.RexxLa.org). The user's group ibm-netrexx, which I copy here for info, is used by NetRexx user's worldwide for Questions and Answer's. Kind regards from Vienna, Thomas Schneider. ================================================ 22.09.2011 18:05, schrieb [hidden email] Gentlemen: --

I’m American and that doesn’t even mean anything to me (not a sports fan). What chance does an Austrian have? Thomas,
Did it cross your mind that your note contained zero information content to members of ibm-netrexx? If you wanted us to see that you were being an advocate for NetRexx among the NetBeans crowd, well, so what? Rest assured that we all are advocates of NetRexx in other communities. We don't need or want to see that you are spreading the word. You don't see us cross-posting when we do it, do you? Furthermore, you referred to ibm-netrexx as a "user's group", not a listserver, and gave him no information for joining us. If your intention was that he would pick up on the fact that you "cc:" that address, you not only cross-posted us for no good reason but made it very unlikely that he figured out the association in the first place. Why didn't you give him "[hidden email]" in your message and spare us yet-another-obnoxious-Thomas-Schneider-crosspost? -Chip- On 9/22/11 17:00 Thomas Schneider said: > Hello Richard, > may I ask you that you also have a look at the NetRexx Languages, > which has now been OPEN SOURCED by IBM. > > From my experience, after yeras, it is much more easier to develop > Programs for the Java JVM in NetRexx, than in pure Java. Hello Alan,
1.) I'm a NetRexx *fan*, since years (as you probably do know, from other posts) 2.) I'm using NetRexx exclusively for all my developments. 3.) Maybe, I'm *not* so aware of the rules for CROSS-Posting. The intent of my reply to the NetBean's development group [nbdef], on the question in question, has been to *spread the knowledge* about the existance of *NetRexx* What *is so bad* with this my attempt??? Whil'st I still do *NOT* understand all those claim's about cross-posting,
probably because I'm not yet too acquainted with all those NetiQuettes, *I personally* simply wanted to make some advertisement for NetRexx. Sorry I did :-( Will now continue to prepare my slides for the NetRexx Presentation I'm helding at Linz, 27.09.2011, at the IBM ISV meeting (some 50-100 attendees) borrowing as much as I cann from all the available presentations. I'm getting more and more (personally) frustrated from some of those needless discussions, by the way :-) Thomas Schneider. ======================================================= Am 22.09.2011 23:33, schrieb Chip Davis: > Thomas, > > Did it cross your mind that your note contained zero information > content to members of ibm-netrexx? > > If you wanted us to see that you were being an advocate for NetRexx > among the NetBeans crowd, well, so what?
