Summer motorcycle trip through the Transcaucasus region

Murphy
Hey folks, my plan for the summer is to ride through the Transcaucasian countries on a motorcycle. I want to check out the local nature, get a feel for the culture, and try all their traditional food. Azerbaijan is the first stop on the route for this trip. Shipping my own bike across the ocean makes zero financial sense. Where should I look to rent a motorcycle locally in Baku, and are the rental requirements super strict over there?

Trips through the Caucasus mountains sound like an absolute blast for a summer vacation. The mountain passes in that region offer some of the most scenic routes you can ever find. Local shops in Baku usually ask for a standard international driving permit and a hefty cash deposit. You might want to reach out to local touring communities on Facebook that operate in the area. Those guys often have direct connections with small garages that rent out reliable dual-sport bikes for dirt trails.

Local mechanics at small shops sometimes ignore standard maintenance schedules to save a few bucks. Renting directly from other riders usually results in getting a well maintained machine that is actually ready for long trips. You can check motorcycle rental options in AZ here https://getrentacar.com/en-US/motorcycle-rental/azerbaijan . You basically interact directly with the actual owners who list their personal rides there. The exact terms and deposit amounts are set by the individuals themselves, giving you a chance to find a deal that fits your specific needs.
