njpipes: good news

rvjansen
I have some good news to share. I have been in touch with Ed Tomlinson and he has kindly agreed to open source the njpipes product that he has produced many years ago. I am certain that more people on this list love Pipes, or Hartmann Pipelines, ( Hartmann pipeline - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) as they are called now, and to have this codebase available means we can offer it as a library for NetRexx and even have an outlook on more closer integration if we choose to do so. We have asked the other author of some contributed stages if he is also willing to change the license to ICU, which will give us the opportunity to release both under the same license. I am very happy that this source code base has been retrieved intact and will be available to all users of NetRexx, and especially those who know and love pipelines and its programming paradigm.

best regards,

René Jansen.

Hello Ed, Rene,
   These are goo news!

As all of you know, PIPES have been used a lot on CMS Sysrems, as far as I know.

An ex-Collegue of mine has been a fan of them.

Thanks for keeping the train running :-)
Thomas.

Jerry McBride
Yes, use pipes on occasion...

What I'm looking for is a semaphore package similar to what was available on OORexx years back.
